Daul registered under the Society Registration of the Government of West Bengal under the Society Registration Act of India (Society Registration no.: S\/1L\/48760 of 2007-2008). The organization also affiliated with the <strong>Ministry of Culture, Government of India<\/strong> and registered as a non profit organization under NGO Darpan as part of the &#8220;Niti Aayog&#8221;, Government of India.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>Unique Id of VO\/NGO: <strong>WB\/2015\/0087908<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>\u2018DAUL: A Theatre Group\u2019 started its journey on 8th February 2006 with its first production <em>Buro Saliker Ghare Ron <\/em>(Author \u2013 Michael Madhusudan Dutta). In due course of time it continued and is still continuing with many successful productions, such as <em>Shong<\/em> (Joker) by Rashed Mamun Apu; <em>Yakshapuri<\/em> \u2013 an adaptation of Tagore\u2019s <em>Raktakarabi<\/em>; <em>Chandalika<\/em> by Rabindranath Tagore;Tagore\u2019s <em>Sharadotsav<\/em>; <em>Prem <\/em>Puran by Afsar Ahmed; <em>Kamala Sundarir Pala<\/em>, An adaptation of Tagore\u2019s short story <em>Musalmanir Golpo<\/em>; Tagore\u2019s <em>Dakghar<\/em>, <em>Guru <\/em>and some other plays.<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rabindranath Tagore has been our constant inspiration since our first thoughts of forming the DAUL (troupe, in English). Apart from his overarching presence in our aesthetics, we have been trying to assimilate and bear the great theatrical heritage of Bengal. We are relentlessly trying to incorporate many of Bengal\u2019s folk games, dance and all ritualistic performances into our newly thought \u2018Actor\u2019s Training Method\u2019, which we have been trying to develop for the last few years. We grounded our first experimentation with this Method in a workshop with the students of Patha-Bhavana, Visva-Bharati, in 2015 and subsequently produced Rabindranath Tagore\u2019s play <em>Sharadatsav<\/em>. Later, we made it a complete version as our group production in 2016. Interestingly, Tagore started to modify his dramaturgy in the first decade of the 20th century, making him the pioneer of the \u2018Modern Bengali theatre\u2019.\u00a0<em>Sharadatsav\u00a0<\/em>was his first creation in that initiative.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: left;\">In addition, we have an international refereed e-journal named <strong><em>Thespian Magazine<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(ISSN 2321-4805), which is a bilingual e-journal, published both in Bengali and English. It is brought out twice a year as \u201cNababarsha Sankhya\u201d (Bengali New Year Edition; April-May) and \u201cSharat Sankhya\u201d (Autumn Edition; September-October). Though the title itself suggests the main focus of the journal,\u00a0we try to bring together every wing of <strong>Art, Literature and Culture <\/strong>through our publication and other sections.
